I didn’t really understand retail insurance until I needed it. My company needed retail insurance and to ensure that I met the needs of my company, I looked into it – but got lost really quickly. So, I dedicated an afternoon to finding out about retail insurance and chose the best one for my company.

Retail insurance isn’t complicated

It’s not complicated, and it’s not difficult to arrange, but it is difficult, sometimes, to plan exactly what you need. Retail insurance covers your store, stock and fixtures and fittings from any disasters, or unexpected events that cause damage or destroy your livelihood. It doesn’t cover the building itself – you need buildings insurance for that – but it could almost be considered the same as contents insurance – if you were selling your contents and replenishing the stock every so often. It’s important though, to businesses to ensure they’ve got what they need and that they’re in a position that they make money and protect the elements that make them money. Retail insurance does that.

One of the major considerations people need to take into account when booking retail insurance is that they aren’t paying too much for it, and it does pay to shop around. What one business can use, another business might find cheaper elsewhere.
